Daily Devotionals
- My Utmost for
His Highest is the the classic devotional work by Oswald Chambers.
- Morning &
Evening is
another classic devotional by Charles Spurgeon. You can download a Windows
95 program which allows you to view and print the daily devotionals without
going online.
- The Upper Room is a daily
devotional which helps people listen to God. Each day's devotional includes
a Scripture passage, key verse, meditation, thought for the day, and
prayer focus.
- Today in the Word
is published by Moody Bible Institute and examines a different major topic
each month through daily devotional readings.
- Our Daily Bread is published by
Radio Bible Class and includes a Scripture passage, key verse, meditation, and quotes,
for each day. Devotions focus on our worship and our walk with God. If you are a
student, check out Campus Journal.
- The NIV Quiet Time
Bible provides a daily Bible study for personal online use. The text
comes from InterVarsity's print edition of the book.
Quiet Time Tools
- Read Through the Bible in a Year uses
daily readings from Old Testament History, Prophecy, and the New Testament
to help you read the entire Bible in one year.
- Daily Light provides
a plan for reading through the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs in one year. It also
gives suggestions for daily prayer focus.
- The Cyber Hymnal
has hundreds of hymns complete with lyrics, sound, background information,
and public domain MIDI files you can download.
- The Catholic
Prayers site lists prayers for various occasions and situations. These
prayers could be used in developing a personal prayerbook.
- The Scripture Memory Connection
provides information about Scripture memorization and related topics.
- The Quiet Place provides
a variety of quiet time links to help you draw near to God. The site
also includes resources for a personal spiritual
retreat.
Studying the Bible
- The Bible Gateway
allows you to browse and search the complete text of the Bible in various
versions and languages.
- The Concise Matthew
Henry Commentary provides brief commentary on all passages of the Bible.
- The World Wide Study Bible
provides links to Scripture passages as well as commentaries, meditations,
devotionals, hymns, and other web resources which relate to the passages.
- Goshen's Personal Study Tools page includes
links to Topical Bibles, Bible Dictionaries, Lexicons, and other resources
useful for studying Scripture.
- The Bible Knowledge Accelerator
provides Windows-based freeware programs which you can download and use to become more
familiar with God's Word.
