It has taken us quite awhile to get "on the ball" and shop for our baby. As the
due date quickly approaches, however, we are realizing how important it is to
get the essentials so we'll be ready when the baby is born! In June we registered at Toys R Us/Babies R Us, mainly
for some of the bigger things like crib, stroller/carseat, etc. In July we
started to purchase some of the things we know we will need once the baby arrives. As
of the beginning of August, we have purchased or received nearly everything we
consider "necessities" and are busily preparing the house for our
new arrival. We plan to share our bedroom with the baby for a month or 2
and then gradually move our bundle of joy to the nursery -- which will almost
certainly not be ready by the end of August.

There are probably items I missed. There may be an item or 2 listed
that I may find I don't end up needing at all. Advice about things to add to
this list is welcome, especially since I feel a little clueless about what I
need to have on hand...this being my first baby. We're planning to breastfeed
and use disposable diapers - otherwise this list might look a little different!
