September 15

This morning I tried to get Rebekah to nap during the day in her co-sleeper, but she didn't like it. Her morning nap is usually at least 2-3 hours, but today she slept for less than an hour in the co-sleeper. After nursing her for awhile, she fell asleep again, and we slept in bed together. Rebekah's favorite place to sleep during the day is her carseat, and she often sleeps through the night if she's in bed with us.

I straightened our bedroom and washed dishes today. I wore Rebekah in her carrier while loading the dishes, and even with all of the noise of dishes clinking together, she still managed to fall asleep. She woke up immediately when I took off the carrier!

I also cooked dinner for the first time since she was born. However, I find myself tired and in need of an extra burst of energy. My tummy's a little sore too, and I'm afraid I may be overdoing it a little, though I am definitely regaining my energy.

Despite this morning's successful nursing time, Rebekah has not latched on properly in the other couple times she tried today. She's not opening her mouth wide enough, and often, even if she does open wide, she'll close her gums tight on my breast, which really hurts!

I gave Rebekah a quick sponge bath tonight, and she didn't like it one bit. I hoped it would help her sleep through the night, but she was awake for an hour around 3AM anyway. A feeding and a walk with Mommy finally calmed her down enough to sleep again around 4.
